Liveclicker moved into Zeta. Your timers did not
By Danish Mohammed, founder. 6 min read
Type liveclicker.com into a browser today and you land on a Zeta Global product page. The redirect is a 301, the permanent kind, and it applies to the bare domain and the www host alike. It points at zetaglobal.com/platform/liveclicker/, which redirects again to www.zetaglobal.com/products/liveclicker/, headed “Live Content. Real Results.”
Meanwhile app.realtime.email still answers. It serves a login page titled “RealTime Email by Liveclicker”, greeting you with “Welcome to Liveclicker, to get started, login below.” There is no Zeta branding on it anywhere.
That gap is the whole story. Existing customers log into a product that looks like 2019. New buyers are sold an enterprise platform.
What happened, checked on 17 September 2026
Liveclicker was part of Marigold. On 30 September 2025, MarTech reported that “Zeta Global announced Tuesday it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Marigold’s enterprise software business, including Marigold Loyalty, Cheetah Digital, Selligent, Sailthru, Liveclicker and Grow.” The same report notes that Marigold’s smaller businesses, Campaign Monitor, Emma and Vuture, were not included, and that the transaction was expected to close by the end of 2025.
The observable result is on the wire today. Both Liveclicker hostnames issue a permanent redirect into Zeta’s product section, so the brand’s own marketing site is gone. The Zeta page names fifteen modules, LiveTimer, LiveImage, LiveFeed and LivePoll among them. LiveTimer is described there as a way to “Embed a live countdown timer to create urgency”. The page also promises “timers that adjust by region and subscriber tier”.
No price appears on that page.
What this means if you have LiveTimer URLs in live email
Check them today rather than at the next renewal.
The app still runs, so your images are probably still rendering. The risk is not that a switch has already been thrown. The risk is quieter than that. A product whose marketing site has been redirected away, and whose login screen has not been rebranded a year into the acquisition, is a product with a sunset ahead of it. Nobody has announced that date to you.
- Search your templates for
realtime.emailandliveclickerin thesrcof every<img>. - Check the snippet and content libraries in your ESP, not only the campaigns.
- Look at automations before broadcasts. A welcome flow built in 2021 is sending this afternoon.
- Ask your Zeta account contact, in writing, for the retirement date of the RealTime.email application and the image hostnames it serves from. Get the hostnames named explicitly.

What Zeta Liveclicker still does well
The module set is broader than a timer tool. Fifteen named modules cover open-time content a countdown product does not attempt: feeds, polls, scratch-off reveals, weather, maps, shipment tracking. The page also describes timers that adjust by region and subscriber tier.
If Liveclicker came bundled with Cheetah Digital, Selligent or Sailthru, and those are the systems your team lives in, staying inside one vendor has real operational value. Moving the timer out means another login and another invoice.
Enterprise support is a genuine advantage over a one-person company, on any day when the one person is asleep.
What EmailTimer.App does differently
The price is on a page, in dollars and rupees, and there is a free plan that needs no call. That is the largest single difference between this and anything in the enterprise tier.
The countdown and the recipient’s data come out of one render engine, into one image URL, on every plan. That is the same delivery shape LiveTimer and LiveImage use, without two module names and a contract.
Client behaviour is documented before the sale. Apple Mail fetches at delivery, so the timer reads the time remaining at that moment. Gmail’s proxy caches per recipient per URL, and Google publishes no lifetime for it. Outlook on Windows draws only frame one. The email client table covers each case, and how email image caching works explains the mechanism per provider.
Every request to the image service returns HTTP 200 and a valid image, degraded to a fallback if anything upstream fails, because a delivered email cannot be recalled.
When Liveclicker is the better choice
Stay on Zeta Liveclicker if you are already on Cheetah Digital, Selligent or Sailthru and the timer arrived with the platform. Consolidation is worth more than a line item.
Stay if you need LiveFeed or LivePoll in the same image as the countdown. Neither exists here.
Stay if procurement requires a master services agreement, a negotiated uptime credit and a named account team. There are no enterprise contracts here, and I would rather say that on this page than in month two of a security review.
How to move
- List every Liveclicker module your emails actually use. Timers and personalized images move cleanly. Feeds and polls do not.
- For each timer, record the deadline in UTC, the pixel width, the font, and whether it was fixed or per-recipient.
- Rebuild here at the same width. Width is what breaks layouts: an image 40 pixels wider reflows a two-column table in Outlook.
- Replace the
srcvalue inside the existing<img>. Keep the width attribute, the alt text and any link wrapper as they are. - For per-recipient deadlines, choose the matching model in the timer types guide and pass the identifier your ESP already has. The merge tag per platform is in the snippet on each integration page.
- Set the expired image before the first send, because old flows are where stale counters surface.
- Keep the Liveclicker account active until the last automation embedding its URLs has been switched over and verified in a real inbox.
Questions and answers
Is Liveclicker shut down?
Not as a product. Its own website is: liveclicker.com permanently redirects into Zeta Global. The technology continues as Zeta Liveclicker, with LiveTimer among fifteen named modules.
Does RealTime.email still work?
The login page at app.realtime.email still loads and is still branded “RealTime Email by Liveclicker”, with no Zeta branding. That suggests existing customers still have access. It is not a commitment from Zeta about how long that lasts, so ask for one in writing.
What happened to Liveclicker?
It was part of Marigold’s enterprise software business. On 30 September 2025 MarTech reported Zeta Global had entered a definitive agreement to acquire that business, Liveclicker included, with the deal expected to close by the end of 2025.
How much does Zeta Liveclicker cost?
No price appears on the Zeta product page for it. Pricing here is published: free, $19, $49 and $149 a month, on the pricing page.
Will my LiveTimer images break?
Nothing observable says they have. Treat that as an argument for checking rather than for relaxing, and replace the URLs in your automations first. Mail that is already delivered cannot be edited when a hostname is retired.
